SPLASH THEATRE COMPANY
Splash Theatre Company is an independent touring theatre company based in Adelaide, South Australia.
It stages 4 or 5 productions each year which tour to arts centres, schools, festivals and other venues including pubs, clubs and community centres.
It has a repertoire of productions which are available to tour and makes at least on new work each year.
Productions are made for touring and feature young, energetic actors and performers. Each year a small ensemble of between 8 and 12 performers form the performing company. Some stay for several years and others for a limited number of productions.
The work is challenging and physically demanding with the performers doing most of the staging work as only limited technical support is available.
The emphasis of the work is on the skills of the actors and the strength of the writing. Strong engagement with audiences is a high priority - the motto “family friendly theatre at its most lively” taken from a review has recently been adopted.
It also conducts workshops in theatre making including performance and percussion.
